Roy J. Fisher, age 77, of Toledo, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by his loving friends. A graduate of Central Catholic High School, Roy was a U.S Marine veteran of the Korean War. He worked at the Toledo Jeep for 38 years, retiring in 2000.
Roy was a longtime Toledo hockey fan from the Toledo Blades to the Toledo Storm never missing a home game, a span of 600 games. He was one of the founding members of the Glass City Corvette Club and longtime member of the Maumee River Yacht Club. He was also an officer and Americanism Chairman of the Maumee/BG Elks #1850, Maumee, Ohio. Roy enjoyed NASCAR and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. He also was a fan of the OSU Buckeyes, the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Tigers. He put his heart and soul into every organization and event that he was involved with. He was a tireless promoter of the Maumee Elks, an organization where he had many friends. He will be truly missed.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Roydon and Helen Fisher. He is survived by his longtime best friend, Pattrick (Rita) Przysiecki and his adopted Przysiecki family as well as his friend, Jolyn Heavener.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. where the Elks will have a service at 7:00 p.m.. Funeral services will be held on Friday beginning at 10:15 a.m. in the mortuary followed by the funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, Maumee at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
