George Michael Wagner, 72, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Friday, November 9, 2012, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. George was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 22, 1941, to Wesley George and Irene Stella (Dobrochowski) Wagner. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam War Era. George had worked for the Asbestos Insulators Union 45 prior to his retirement. He was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church. George had a real love for cars and has restored several. He also enjoyed trap shooting and won many awards in his division.
Surviving are his loving wife of 43 years, Leona "Lee" Wagner; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley G. and Amy Marie Wagner; grandson, Lucas Conrad Wagner; brothers, Greg (Cindy Deck) Wagner, Jim (Barb) Wagner; sisters, Johanna "Jo" Armentrout, Jane Antoinette "Toni" (Jamie) Wohn; uncle, Dave (Donna) Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private. After the memorial service George's family invites you to join them at Maumee Bay State Park Lodge for a time to celebrate and share memories of George's life.
