Robert S. Eisel, age 72, of Berkey, Ohio, died unexpectedly, Thursday, December 6, 2012, as the result of a head injury from a fall in his barn. He was born July 11, 1940, in Richfield Center to Gilbert and Odellia (Miller) Eisel. Bob graduated from Metamora High School Class of 58'. On June 23, 1962, he married his loving wife, Elizabeth Erbland. Bob and Elizabeth were devoted to life on the farm. In their later years, they planned on traveling more often. For their 50th wedding anniversary, they traveled to Panama and the Smokey Mountains. They were to leave Friday for a planned return trip to the Smokey Mountains.

Bob was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Knights of Columbus, The Farm Bureau, and served on the Board of Soil and Water Conservation. Bob was a hard worker who also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

Besides his beloved wife of 50 years, Elizabeth, Bob is survived his son, Mark (Christine) Eisel, and their children, Brittany (Jamie) Waymire and Evan Eisel; daughter, Angela (John) Eisel-Pinkstaff, and their children, Nicholas and Jamie; daughter, Kathleen (Michael) Fischer, and their children, Collin, Jacob, and Drew; son, Philip (Lara) Eisel, and their children, Eden and Bryce; siblings, Betty (Larry) Zimmerman, Don (Caris) Eisel, and JoAnn (Jere) Alm, as well as 10 nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may visit Monday, December 10, 2012, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
