David M.

David M. Dierker of the Point/Shoreland community passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the age of 63. David worked at Chrysler Jeep Corp. for 24 years, retiring in 2008. He was a Proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Viet Nam as a combat engineer, for which his country is grateful. On October 17, 1970, he earned a Bronze Star. David was a 27 year member of Ottawa River Yacht Club, longtime member of the Middle Bass Island Yacht Club and also the Michigan Snowmobile Association.

David was preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Pauline (Williams) Dierker; infant brother, James; sister, Mary Beth Blair, and mother-in-law, Mary Greene. Left to cherish his memory are loving wife of 28 years, Julie (Greene); sisters, Holly (Tom) Stover, Julie (Karl) Tillman; brother, Dennis; father-in-law, George Greene; brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Tracy) Greene; sister-in-law, Molly (Rhoud) Benson, and good friend, James M. Johnstone IV as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be held in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611, (419.726.1583) on Thursday, January 10, 2013, from 3-7 p.m. with O.R.Y.C. service at 7 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Friday in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Chaplain Michael Penz officiating. Interment will be private. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their care and compassion.
