Carl M. "Slick"
Carl M. Schliesser, 65, of Oregon, OH passed away February 4, 2013, surrounded by his loving family and friends at Mercy St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 29, 1947, to Edward and Virginia (Couturier) Schliesser. Carl was a 1965 graduate of Waite High School, where he was an all-city and all-state football athlete. He was inducted into the Waite Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995. Carl served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Toledo Policeman for 30 years, retiring in 1999, and was currently employed as a security officer at the Federal Court House. Carl was a member of the Toledo Police Retirees Association. Carl loved being with his grandchildren and enjoyed entertaining friends and family at his boat on Lake Erie.
Surviving are his son, Chad (Kathy) Schliesser; daughter, Lori (Casey) Daniels; grandchildren, Jessica and Lyndi Daniels and Crew Schliesser; significant other, Margie Egan, and his dog, Chloe. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy in 2010.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, February 9, 2013, from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Waite High School Building Fund.
