Long-time Perrysburg resident Carol (Clark) Philbin passed away on September 26, 2013. Born September 14, 1927, she was raised in Lancaster, Ohio, and graduated from Lancaster High School. She attended Ohio State University, where she met her husband, Rossford resident, Philip (Mickey) Philbin. They were married on September 12, 1948, and enjoyed 56 years together.
Carol and Mick moved to northwest Ohio after marrying, and were Perrysburg residents from 1961 on. They raised three sons, Phil (Seattle, WA), Larry (Charleston, SC), and Brian (Alpharetta, GA). Carol was an excellent seamstress and made most of her own clothes.
Carol enjoyed and supported the Toledo Symphony, Opera, the Repertoire Theatre, the Way Library and the Art Museum. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg. She was a devoted Buckeye fan and was the proud mother of 3 OSU graduates.
She was an avid bridge player. She and Mick played bridge with friends for many years, and after he died she participated in two weekly bridge clubs with dear friends.
We brothers would like to thank her friends and neighbors in Perrysburg and beyond for your support in challenging situations and your conviviality throughout her life. It was wonderful for us to hear of the quality of life she experienced with you.
Because none of us live in town, there will not be a local memorial service. If you wish to celebrate her with a remembrance, please consider a contribution to the Symphony, Opera, Rep, Art Museum, the Way Library, the Church or the Script Ohio Club, benefactors of the OSU Marching Band.
