Richard G. Habib died on Friday, October 4, 2013. He was 90 years old.
Mr. Habib was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 30, 1923. He was in the U.S. Army on active duty in the Pacific during World War II. After the war Mr. Habib graduated from the University of Toledo, then worked at the Toledo Museum of Art and Owens - Illinois. Following these positions, he was on the staff of the University of Toledo Library for 30 years.
He was an avid fan of opera as well as college football.
Mr. Habib loved wild animals and was concerned for their loss of habitat. His personal philosophy reflected a profound respect for nature and a belief that man should be humble before the vastness of the universe.
He is survived by his wife, Jane and sons, Mark and Noel.
