Gene Richard



Gene Fangman, 84, passed away at home on Saturday, December 7, 2013. He was born in Portage, Oregon on September 11, 1929, to Glenn and Gladys Fangman. He married Arlene (George), the love of his life, and they spent 50 glorious years

together. They enjoyed camping in their RV, raising their dogs, and riding their matching Harleys.

Gene served in the U.S. Army, during World War II. He just recently received his 65 year pin from the Ironworkers Local 55. He and his father, Glenn, traveled the country working on welding assignments including the Mackinac Bridge. He enjoyed collecting belt buckles and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity to others.

He was preceded in death

by his wife, Arlene; sister, Evelyn Hancock, and

parents. He is survived by his sister, Audrey (Edward) Berger; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Bill Cross and Jim Faykosh, as well as many others. He will be dearly missed.

Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. Private interment will take place in Allen Township Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the ASPCA Society.
