Raymond E.



Raymond E. Schaub, PhD, age 71, of Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. He was born June 14, 1942, in Gatesville, Texas the son of Hilmer Schaub and Grace Walker. He was a graduate of Rice University in Houston and received his Doctorate degree there as well. He retired as professor emeritus in German Language from the Eastern Michigan University in 2000, and was the Director of World College at E.M.U. He liked old country music and collecting unique belt buckles. He married Uta Schaub and later married Priscilla Cameron.

He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; his son, Daniel Schaub and daughter-in-law, Nikki Schaub, both of Petersburg; granddaughter, Sophia Schaub; brother, John Schaub and sister-in-law, Anna Schaub both of Fort Worth, TX and sister, Margaret Collins and brother-in-law, Bill Collins both of Dallas, TX.

Friends may call on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Cover Funeral Home, 297 Tecumseh Street in Dundee (734-529-3156). He will lie in state Wednesday, March 12, 2014, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. services at Petersburg United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Joel Walther. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Summerfield Township. A funeral dinner at the church hall will follow the graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at
