Florence "Flossie" Radecki, age 87, of Toledo passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2014. Florence, the youngest of seven children, was born March 3, 1927, to Matthew and Josephine (Gosinak) Zasada in Toledo. A graduate of Woodward High School, she was a accomplished accordion player, having played since her grade school days. Flossie played with a musical group called the "Melody Stylists" at numerous functions and later she enjoyed playing the organ. Flossie married Chet Radecki on September 29, 1951, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church and they have enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Chet was in the Navy when they married and they did a tour of duty at the Navy Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia. She enjoyed camping with Chet and their seven children.
Flossie is survived by her loving husband, Chet; daughters, Mary (Charles) Moening and Janet (Larry) Herrick; sons, Ron, Gary, Michael (Karen), and Patrick Radecki. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved son, Paul; grandson, Austin;
sisters, Wanda Spotts, Sophie Heffelbower, Mary Novak, Estelle Doncoues, Stella Rakosik and Josie Czyzewski.
Friends may visit Sunday, March 16, 2014, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Urbanski Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Rd. (north of Laskey) (419) 475-5055 with the Rosary
being prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at 10 a.m. Monday, in Christ the King Catholic Church where the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father William Rose.
