Leonard Howard

Leonard Howard LaFountaine, 83, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Mercy-St. Vincent Hospital. He was born September 30, 1930, in Toledo to Howard E. and Iola (Benfer) LaFountaine. He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Leonard was a Pipefitter for L.O.F. for over 30 years until retiring. In his retirement, he owned and operated LaFountaine Pools and Bono Barns, making wooden mailboxes. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but his love was for trapping and had been published multiple times on the subject.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife, of 57 years, Sandra LaFountaine; son, Daniel (Kimberly) LaFountaine; grandchildren, Derek LaFountaine and Anna LaFountaine and brother, Greg LaFountaine. His parents and son, Howard L. LaFountaine, preceded him in death.

A celebration of Leonard's life will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 12 noon at Christ United Methodist Church, 5757 Starr Ave. in Oregon. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the .
