Hussein Smidi Obituary

SMIDI

Hussein Ali 12-25-1974 - 9-27-2014

Hussein Ali Smidi, 39, passed away unexpectedly at St. Anne's Hospital from heart complications. He passed peacefully surrounded by family.

Hussein is preceded in death by his father, Ali Khalil Smidi, and is survived by his loving mother, Afaf Smidi and his beloved daughter, Tahani; brothers and best friends, Khalil (Suaad), Hafez, Amer (Corey); nieces, Nadia, Shadia, Raya, Suehilla, Afaf, Layla, and Samera and only nephew, Yousef. Also many, many close family and friends.

Hussein was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He attended school at Whittier, DeVeaux and graduated from Start High School. Where he started his life long relationship with many friends who considered Hussein a brother.

One thing we can all say about Sammy is his heart was one-of-a-kind. He was truly loved by everyone he met. Everything Hussein did he did with his whole heart, including his business. He went above and beyond to make everyone feel at home and comfortable while at his establishments.

Thank you for your continued prayers and support.

The loss of Hussein is heartbreaking. My family and I feel great sorrow and empathy for all of Hussein's family and friends. The out pouring of love and support at his funeral and the fact that people from all walks of life were there is a testament to the wonderful person he was and the lives he touched. He will be added to our daily prayers and we will pray for your family. May he be at peace.

My deepest condolences to Sammi's family in the wake of his untimely passing. He was the best and he will be missed! His kindness, generosity and his cool way of doing things will be long remembered. Jesse James West will never be the same. He made each customer feel special, especially on birthdays, and the free food he provided on Fridays was always downright delicious and a testament to his generous spirit. He knew what excellent customer service meant and he was a friend to all! May Allah bless and comfort you all!
