LaCOURSE

Richard F. "Bigfoot" "Rick"

Richard F. LaCourse, 64, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, in St. Charles Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on November 21, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio to Richard F. and Mary Catherine (Marie) LaCourse, who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School. Rick was a retired Lucas County Deputy Sheriff, a retired charter boat captain on Lake Erie and Lake Michigan, and a retired Professional Tournament fisherman, winning the 1997 PWT Championship. He was an avid hunter and poker player.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy (Dobson); mother-in-law, Dora Dobson, whom he treasured; son, Tim (Beth) Broka; daughters, Kimberly Ammons-Inks (William) of Jackson, Michigan, Stacey LaCourse-Berry (Richard) of Jackson, Michigan; brothers, Paul (Carol) of Toledo, and Daniel of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and many friends throughout the country in the fishing and hunting industries.

Judy would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who tried to help Rick at St. Charles Hospital. He is no longer suffering and is now at peace in the loving arms of our true Healer. To God be the Glory.

Rick donated his body to The University of Toledo Medical Center and requested that no services be held. His wish for his fellow fishermen are for calm waters, fair winds and tight lines. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
