Reginald “Reggie”
Reginald “Reggie” Leister, age 79 , passed away suddenly on September 16, 2016. He was born in Toledo, OH on March 11, 1937 to Reginald S. and Emily A. Leister.
He graduated from Macomber High School and attended The Ohio State University for a short period of time....and was a major Buckeye Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reginald S. and Emily A. Leister; and granddaughter, Kelsey Ketterman.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret Maish; and children, Linda (Dave) Ball, Reginald “Shawn” Leister, Julie (Paul) Ketterman and Tim Leister; grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Downey, Ryan Ball, Reginald “RJ” Leister, Luke Ketterman, Lauren Ketterman and Russell Leister.
He spent his career at the family business, Leister Game Co., which was a successful game company known for joke and novelty items and gifts. He was always known for saying “This Joke is a Job”.
He was an avid car fan as a member of Fiasco car club, and a major motorcycle enthusiast including many trips to Sturgis. He was a longtime member of the “Shrimp Club”, which he enjoyed for many years.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and passion to create laughter, spontaneity, adventure, many road trips, and ease to make friends at every stop of his life. He was a philanthropist of his time, and will be truly missed by many. R.I.L. Reg...Rest in Laughter.
Visitation will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd. on Wednesday, September 21 from 2-8 p.m. A celebration of Reggie's life, per his request, will be held at The Village Idiot in Maumee on Thursday, September 22, from 2-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Toledo Area
Humane Society.
