Bill Saunders Obituary

Bill Saunders

Bill Saunders, age 88, of Ottawa Hills passed away April 9, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born December 28, 1928 to Margaret and George Saunders in Toledo. Bill was a graduate of Ottawa Hills High School where he played football. He graduated from Yale University with an electrical engineering degree. In his teens, Bill was a life guard at Centennia Quarry. He earned his Eagle Scout at this time as well. Always an avid reader, he became more so as he grew older, concentrating on environmental issues. He rode his bike not only for pleasure, but also to save energy. Because of his concern for the environment, Bill was active in AYH, Safe Kids, TMACOG, Green Sanctuary at his church, and many more organizations.

Bill will be missed and survived by his wife, Judy of 45 years. He is also survived by sons, Jeremy (Brooke) and Greg; daughter, Margo; 4 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, Joanne Campbell, Phil Podlish, Megan Koerper; and his best friend, Jedi.
