Jenny Maran Groves Baker
Jenny Maran Groves Baker, 84, passed away January 30, 2018, in the State of TX. A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at Tremainsville Hall, 2437 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH on February 10, 2018. Burial will be at the FL National Cemetery.
Jenny was born in Toledo, OH, to Francesco (Frank) Marano and Innocenza (Virginia) Pellegrino on May 12, 1933. She attended DeVilbiss High School and went on to become a Nurse's Aid at Toledo Hospital. She also studied real-estate at Ohio State University and became top sales agent. Jenny was a participant in many volunteer programs and helped establish a foundation for a Catholic library as well as her numerous monetary donations to the Kitchen for the Poor.
Jenny was awarded the President Good Samaritan Award as she unselfishly used lifesaving efforts on behalf of a 16-month-old boy who had fallen into the Maumee Bay.
Jenny was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Samuel, Louis and Anthony Maran; late first husband, Homer (Jim) Groves; late second husband, Estle (Dutch) Baker.
Jenny is survived by her loving children, Mary Kay (Jim) Snyder, Theresa (Jeff) Chalmers, James (Shelley) Groves, Patricia Groves, Barbara (Andy) Martin; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her beloved brothers, Richye, James, Frank and Thomas Maran; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
