SOUTHINGTON - Mrs. Helen B. (Jankowski) Caruso, 89, of Southington, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Southington Care Center. She was the devoted wife of Salvatore "Tookie" Caruso.

Mrs. Caruso was born on Oct. 5, 1923, in Plantsville, daughter of the late Stephen and Pauline (Dubicki) Jankowski. She was a graduate of Southington School System and a very proud graduate of Pequot Business School in Meriden and worked at Timex in Middlebury for nine years. She was a devout catholic and servant of God. Helen was a loving mother and caretaker to so many family members and friends. She was a gourmet cook and enjoyed working in her flower garden.
In addition to Salvatore, her husband of 64 years, Helen leaves behind her sons, Anthony S. Caruso and his wife, Jeannie, of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Mark C. Caruso and his wife, Angela, of Waterbury; her daughter, and caretaker, Lynn L. Caruso and her wife, Joan Kiley, of Southington; her granddaughters, Robyn Miller and her husband, Derek and Caryn Ladd and her husband, Alan, Jr.; as well as her great-grandchildren, Alan III, Nolan, Joseph, Lia, Lily and Noah. Helen was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be held on Friday, Aug. 16, 3 at 9 a.m. at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
