WALLINGFORD - Joleen Dixey Williams died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. She was the loving mother to Ryan J. Williams who attends Lasell College in Newton, Mass.

Joleen was born on Oct. 1, 1966, in Pittsburg, Pa. and moved to Wallingford, in 1977. She graduated from Lyman Hall High School in 1984. She was employed by AT&T for over 25 years. Joleen enjoyed life. She loved watching Ryan play sports as a youngster as well as a student-athlete at Lyman Hall High School. She enjoyed the beach, rock concerts, and spending time with friends and her pets.

In addition to her son Ryan, she is survived by Ryan's father, James Williams, Jr.; mother-in-law, Ann Wil-liams; sister, Mary S. Dixey and her wife, Brenda J. Anziano; brother, Jonathan Dixey; father, George Dixey; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah (and Angelo) Marino and Gregory (and Jennifer) Williams; niece, Sydney Williams; godson, Joey J. LeTourneau; aunts, uncles and many cousins. She is also survived by many good friends and will be especially missed by Dawn, Kelly, Mercedes and Cindy Lu. She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Dixey and father-in-law, James Williams, Sr.

The family will receive friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St., Ext., Wallingford, on Sun-day, Aug 18, from 3 to 6 p.m. Her life will be celebrated at a service at The Wallingford Funeral Home on Mon-day, Aug 19, at 1 p.m.; burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Ryan Williams' educational fund which will be set up through People's Bank (details forthcoming) or to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an organization Joleen supported to honor her brother, Jonathan. Joleen will not only live on in the hearts of family and friends, but also in others who benefitted from her generous organ donation.
