Ronald Picard, 89, of Berlin, loving husband of Rita (Thibodeau) Picard, died March 23, 2013 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain.

Born in Frenchville, Maine, the son of the late Joseph and the late Alice (Bouchard) Picard, he served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and was employed at Fafnir Bearing Company until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Church, and St. Jean Baptiste Societe.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard Picard of West Palm Beach, Fla., Kenneth and JoAnne Picard of Marlborough, and Allen and Donna Picard of East Berlin; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and James Carriere of Berlin; three sisters, Simone Miron of Farmington, Marie Tucker of New Britain, and Egline Hollfelder of Canton; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Picard.
Funeral services were held March 27, 2013 from Porter's Funeral Home, Kensington, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul Church. Entombment followed in the mausoleum in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
