MERIDEN - Sylvia F. Trecina, 88 wife of the late Carmen "Dom" Trecina, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Miller Memorial Community.

Born in Dover Plains, N.Y. on Sept. 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Bertolo and Ermelinda (Villanova) Boscardin and had resided in Meriden most of her life. She was employed by Westvaco Box Factory and Crown Plastics. Sylvia was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church and was an avid N.Y. Yankees and UCONN women's basketball fan.

She is survived by one daughter, Bernadette Thurber and her husband, Daniel, of Meriden; one son, Mark Trecina and Denise; three grandchildren, Nicole, Ryan and Nicholas; one great-grandson, Eric; Wendy Picard, a very special person, for the love and support she showed Sylvia thru the years; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary, Catherine and Delphine; and two brothers, Angelo and John.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service that will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum. There will be no calling hours.
