EWING - Richard C. Tovar, age 52, of Ewing, passed into the loving hands of the Lord on Monday June 3, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center Compassionate Care Hospice with his loving family by his side.
Born in Trenton, Rich was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Mercer County Community College, and Atlantic County Community College where he graduated with a degree in culinary arts.
Rich was an excellent chef who was employed over the years at many restaurants and country clubs located in Trenton, Philadelphia, Princeton, Atlantic City and Florida. He enjoyed cooking and following his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Left to cherish his beautiful memory are his parents, Arlene and Sidney Ytkin; his beautiful daughters who were the loves of his life, Caitlin Taylor Tovar and Rachel Marie Tovar; his sister, Andrea Ytkin and her husband Tom Wheeler; his nieces Zoey and Cydney Wheeler; his beloved grandmother, Carmela (Nanny) Tafs; his uncles and aunts, Carol and Donald Claudili, and Robert and Mary (Chi-Chi) Tovar; many loving cousins; and a very special person in his life, Mary J. Tovar. He also was the grandson of the late Helen Tovar.
Richard had a great love for all of his family and will be sorely missed by all.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 8, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 343 South Broad St., Trenton. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's name to Res-Q-Pets, c/o Angela Gould, 50 Locust Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08610.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Buklad Memorial Home, 2141 South Broad St., Hamilton.

My heartfelt condolences to the family of Richard Tovar. I have childhood memories of Rich as a fellow camper at the JCC day camp then starting in high school we reacquainted at Notre Dame for four years. May he rest in peace.
