Alice Carrell

Alice Carrell LAMBERTVILLE - Alice Carrell, born November 18th, 1920 at home in West Amwell Township, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday morning November 5, 2013, with those that she loved most by her side. After more than 62 years of marriage and nearly a century's worth of life, wisdom and memories, the sun has set on one more of our greatest generation. Alice's zest for life was uncompromised and unrelenting, as only her late husband John could attest. Even into her golden years she loved the Jersey shore, playing cards and spending time with her friends and family. Well into her 90s it was impossible to keep her from events or gatherings despite the increasingly difficult challenges that only age can create. To those who knew her as Gram or GG, she was the silver-lining to any day and will be forever missed. Alice was the daughter of the late Howard and Ellen Cooper and she was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Alice is survived by her sister, Julia Specker, Alice's son John Carrell Jr. and Alice's daughter Alice Rosso and her husband Norbert Rosso. Her grandchildren Janice Pearson and her husband Mike, Tammy Staub and her husband Joe, James Rosso and his fiance Bridget Masterson, Rebecca Rosso-Hall and her husband Lee, Daniel Rosso and his fiance Marcella Grossman, as well as seven Great Grandchildren and three Great-Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and several special friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery. Calling hour will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
