Burnes J. "Big Burnie" Coppage Sr.

TRENTON - Burnes J. "Big Burnie" Coppage Sr., age 73, of Trenton, passed away Oct. 3, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Born in Warrenton, N.C., he attended McIvry High School in Littleton, N.C. Mr. Coppage was an independent contractor for Princeton Building Maintenance in Princeton.
Son of the late Willis Coppage and Fannie Lee Coppage-Taylor, and his stepfather who raised him Tommie Taylor Sr., husband of the late Lillian Coppage, father of the late Barbara Jean Coppage, brother of the late Pearline Alston, Willie Mae Cahoon, Grady Lee and Arthur Coppage. Mr. Coppage is survived by his loving wife, Arlene Muse-Coppage, children Burnes J. Coppage Jr. (Melody), Bernice C. Coppage-Lamons (Donald), Asia Brown, Anthony Coppage Sr. (Lavonya) and Eddie Harris, siblings George Coppage, Shirley Hughes, Hattie Evans, John Taylor, Pump Leonard Taylor, Tommie Ellis Taylor (Gloria Small), seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Interment Greenwood Cemetery Hamilton.
