Charles A. "Charlie" Burkhardt

Charles A. Burkhardt of Lawrence Township and formerly of South Trenton passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the St. Joseph's Residence, Morris Hall, two days after his birthday.
Chalres was born and raised in Trenton. He was the son of the late Phillip and Mary Kishler Burkhardt. Brother of the late William and Marcella Chiarello.
He is survived by his loving cdaughter and son-in-law; Kathryn and Robert Baker; of Mananhawkin.
Charlie was a kind and loving person. He cared for his mother, who was a young widow, after her passing, Charles found the love of his life and his wife of 23 years, Jean Fares Fox Burkhardt and who passed away in May 2013.
He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception grammer school and the Trenton Cathloic Boys High School, class of 1943. A devout Catholic, he loved Sacred Heart Church. For 35 years he worked in the shipping department of Atlantic Products and than retired from the State of New Jersey, Department of Labor in 1990 after 12 years service. He was a member of the kinghts of Columbus, Trenton Council #355. Former member of the Deborah Heart Hospital Liberty Chaper, the St. Peters and Paul Rosary Society and their Young at Hearts Seniors. Later in life, Charlie lived and loved the Assisted Living section of St. Mary's Residence, Morris Hall, where he stayed until his passing.
The funeral will be held on Monday (June 10) at 9:30 a.m. from the Winowicz Funeral Home, 308 Adeline at Beatty Streets. Funeral Liturgy wil be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at Sacred Hearts Church with Rev. Fr. Dennis Apoldite presiding. Burial will be in Our LAdy of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton Township. Calling hours will be Monday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
