Conrad Belfield McLean Sr., age 78, died Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, N.J.
He was born in Dunn, N.C.. He had been a resident of the community for 60 years. He was educated by the Harnett County school system in Dunn, N.C.
Until his illness he had been employed for the past seven years with the New Jersey Department of Children and Family Regional Schools, Mercer Campus. He was previously employed with the New Jersey Transit Authority for 29 years, and with United Progress Inc.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army
. He was a member of Cadwalader Asbury United Methodist Church.
Mr. McLean was predeceased by his father, William McLean and his mother Carrie (Smith) Kelly, his brothers, William Harrison McLean and Ralph McLean, and a son, Conrad Belfield McLean Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Constance E. McLean; his daughters, Constance McLean-Thomas and her husband Keith, Marsha McLean, and Maria Dennis and her husband Troy; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several cousins and a host of friends
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 10, at the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618. The Rev. Tom Hills will officiate. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment in Franklin Memorial Park, Route 27 and Cozzens Lane, North Brunswick, NJ 08902.
