TRENTON - Courtney Dexter Smith-Levine, affectionately known as "Pooh," 26, departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton.
He was a lifelong resident of Trenton. He was educated in the Trenton public school system. He was employed at Water's Edge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
He was predeceased by his father, Courtney Dexter Smith, and maternal grandmother, Miyoko K. Brundage. He is survived by his son, Jayceon Johnson; his mother and her friend, Marie Brundage Levine Smith and Alfred Shaka Jackson; five brothers, Donnie Levine, Benjamin Levine, Duane (Tiffany) Hollingshead, Damion (Kiya) Carmichael, and Dwayne; three sisters, Nicole (Saladin) McCormack, Chiyono Levine and Courtney C. Smith; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Bradley; maternal grandfather, Josh Brundage; four aunts, Rose Aaron, Helen Brundage Hunter, Alice Brundage and Laney Williams-Darby; three uncles, Paul Brundage, Michael Battle and Keith Smith; godmother, Kathy McBride; best friend and his mother, Breon Bethea and Lisa Bethea; special friends, The Chapel Street Crew and Water's Edge Family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Samaritan Baptist Church, 531 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Trenton. Calling hours will be 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Donations may be made to the Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Ave.,Trenton, NJ 08618, in care of Courtney Dexter Smith-Levine.
