Daniel James Akers LAMBERTVILLE - Daniel James Akers, 41, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Hunterdon Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Lambertville and a graduate of South Hunterdon Regional High School, Dan enjoyed cooking and had worked at several area restaurants over the years. He was an ardent Oakland Raiders fan and he enjoyed watching the games with his friends. Dan was also a regular at areas flea markets and loved a good game of 8 ball. Predeceased by all of his grandparents and his dog Fangarelli, he is survived by his parents, Kathy and Bill Akers of Dagsboro, De., his brother Joe Akers and his wife Kate, his nephew and Godson Dillon Akers, his fiance Michele Cicchino and his beloved pets. Dan will be missed by his family and friends as a gentle, compassionate man who would give you the shirt off his back. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 pm at the American Legion Post # 120, 322 N. Union St. in Lambertville.
