Dorothy A. Decello, 89, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 with her loving family at her side at the Compassionate Care Hospice Unit at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton. Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, Mrs. Decello was a former resident of Ewing Township for 43 years prior to moving to Whiting in 1990 where she resided with her daughter Joann. Dorothy was employed at the General Motors
plant in Ewing for many years before leaving there in 1971, she then went on to work for the State of NJ Department of Transportation Accident and Records Division from 1974 until her retirement in 1992. She was an avid bingo player who enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, and crocheting. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who loved nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Pierson) Kessler, beloved wife of the late Michael A. Decello, sister of the late Ruth Giannacio and Charles Kessler, she is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law; Joann and William Hubert; her two grandchildren; Michael Hubert and wife Julie; Monica and husband Dave Conklin; five great-grandchildren; Kaitlyn and husband Jonathan Peters; Alexes Duran; Stephen; Matthew; and Zackery Hubert; two great-great-grandchildren; Deightyn and Kaed Peters; five siblings; Donald Kessler and wife Minnie; Emily and husband Joseph Probola; Maebelle and husband Robert Bradshaw; Michael Kessler and wife Carol; Ronald Kessler and wife Carol; a sister-in-law; Frances Bucchi; a brother-in-law; Pat Zaino; two special friends; Lorraine Popp; and Mildred Kircher; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The daughter Joann and the Kessler family wish to thank the staff at the Compassionate Care Hospice Unit at St. Francis Medical Center for their excellent and loving care that they showed to Dorothy, and a special thank you to Doctors Souidi and Gugnani.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (Oct. 8) at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W. Upper Ferry Rd., W. Trenton, NJ. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Ln., Hamilton, NJ. Friends and family may call at the church prior to mass from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638.
