Dorothy C. Dengler

WHITING - Dorothy C. Dengler (nee Heaton) of Whiting, passed away into God's loving and eternal care on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Community Medical Center in Toms River.
Born and raised in Gilberton, Pa., she lived in Frackville, Pa. and Bristol, Pa. before moving to Florence where she lived for 50 years before moving to Whiting 13 years ago. She was a retired clerk for the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation in Trenton, where she worked for 18 years. Prior to that she did waitress work. Dot was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Toms River and had always been involved with the Right to Life movement. She was also a longtime supporter of the Poor Clare Nuns. Dot was also a very talented and exquisite crocheter. She was an avid reader, a loyal Chris Smith supporter and a fan of the Phillies, and Derek Jeter.
Grandmother of the late Michael Dengler, she is survived by her daughters, Donna Abrams of Chesterfield, Va., Theresa Giambrone (the late John) of Yardville, and Jeanne Wasnesky (Larry) of Mt. Holly, and her sons, Daniel "Dapper" Dengler of Florence and Joseph Dengler (Virginia) of Riverside. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 Maximilian Lane, Toms River, NJ 08757. Visitation with the family will be from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
