Eglon Russ

Eglon Russ TRENTON - Eglon Russ, age 69, passed away on Sunday, March 30th, 2014 at the Lourdes Specialty Hospital in Willingboro, NJ. Eglon Russ was a resident of the Trenton area for 59 years, graduating from Trenton Central High School in 1963. After graduation, he entered the US Air Force where he served for 4 years during the Vietnam War and completed his service with the rank of Sergeant. Eglon Russ continued his formal education at Mercer County Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Applied Science. During his career he worked for factories such as Westinghouse and the Home Rubber Company. However, he spent the majority of his career as an insurance agent for Washington National and Monumental Life. Eglon Russ attended the Trenton Church of Christ from his youth until his death. During this time, he served in many capacities and became the Assistant Pastor in 1984. Eglon was preceded in death by his mother and father, Evelon and Octavis Russ; his aunt and uncle who also reared him, Horachus and Annie Mozel Perry; his brother, Ozzie Lee Russ; and his sisters, Sarah Carr and Archie Mae Price. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva Loraine Brickhouse Russ; his four daughters, Karen Burch (Ronald); Trina Russ (Antonio Oliver); Assaldra Oates (Charles), Leticia Russ-Jasmin (Rudy); two brothers, Edward Perry; Etavis Russ (Cassandra); one sister, Annie Pearl Anderson (Clarence); eight loving grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, church family, and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 340 Rev. S. Howard Woodson Way, Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment will be 11 a.m., Monday April 7, 2014 at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
