Eleanore B. (Olszewski) Smith

NORFOLK, Va. - Eleanore B. Olszewski Smith, 86, of Norfolk, passed away Wednesday at DePaul Hospital in Norfolk. She was born Sept. 11, 1926 in Trenton, N.J. to the now late Raymond and Lottie Skoraszewski Olszewski.
She was a longtime resident of Trenton, N.J. until she moved to Norfolk in 2005 to live with her daughter, Barbara. Eleanore graduated from Trenton Central High School, class of 1944. She retired in 1972 from J&N Deli in Trenton and was previously employed at Luzerne Rubber Company. She was a member and past president of the St. Stanislaus Parent Teacher Association. She was also very active as a volunteer at St. Stanislaus School. She was a member of the church's Altar-Rosary Society. Eleanore was an avid reader.
Eleanore was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Everett M. Smith Jr. She was the sister of the late Anna T. Sopko and Raymond Olszewski Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara L. Smith and Patricia A. Lott of Norfolk, her son, Christopher E. Smith and Ed Favilla of Centerport, N.Y.; three nephews, Dennis Sopko, Gerry Bornkamp and Raymond Olszewski Jr., her niece, Sndrea Sopko; and her faithful companions, her grand dogs: Harley, Murphy and Gigi.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday from the Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty streets, Trenton, N.J. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Divine Mercy Parish St. Stanislaus Church, corner Randall and Smith streets. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hamilton Township, N.J. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
