Elmer "Pete" Stam

HAMILTON - Elmer "Pete" Stam, 88, of Hamilton, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014, at Hamilton Continuing Care Center in Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. A Navy veteran of World War II, Pete retired with more than 30 years of service from the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation as a Model Maker. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a true friend. Pete enjoyed jazz music, golfing, playing the drums and loved joke telling. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
Son of the late William and Olive Ketra Stam, brother of the late William, Albert and Verna, he is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Gelak Stam, his son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Roxann Stam of Wake Forrest, N.C., his daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Stam Arena and her husband Christopher of Chesterfield, four grandchildren, Julianna Huscha, Kayla and Anna Stam, Kim Arena, a great-grandson, Alex Huscha, and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church, 3500 S. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ 08610. The family will receive guests from 8:30 a.m. until the time of mass at the church. Burial will be private.
