Emma Anna Burroughs

Emma Anna Burroughs was born on June 23, 1932 in Asbury Park. She attended and graduated from Trenton High School in 1952.
In 1960 she married the man of her dreams, John E. Burroughs, who has been a loving and devoted husband for 52 years. Four children were born from this union. She soon converted her faith and joined Tabernacle Baptist Church to be at her husband's side.
Emma had a heart for service and spent her formative years volunteering in the health industry. She finally settled on a career with the State of New Jersey, where she worked diligently for 32 years retiring in 1994
Emma leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband; John; her children; Michael and Anna Burroughs; Maria and Eric Keitt; Kenneth and Tye'Lisa Burroughs; Monica Burroughs and Fiance' Marcus Mitchell; nine Grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings; Gertude and Herbert Webber; Harriet and Jimmy Thomas; devoted Friends; Jervene and Jackie Jones; and Lovie Robinson; and a host of nieces nephews; cousins; relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held, 5 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 7) at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 150 E. 2nd St. Burlington, NJ, Family and friends may call from 3 p.m. until time of service. Interment will be held on Monday (Oct. 8) at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church Tree of Life or Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements are made by Woody Funeral Home.
