LAWRENCE - Emma Sondej, 86, of Lawrenceville, died on Sunday at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center at Hamilton.
Born in Trenton, she was a Lawrenceville resident most of her life. Emma had been a title clerk at Greenfield Dodge in Lawrenceville, before retiring in 2005. Emma enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City, bingo, shopping and vacationing with her husband and grandsons.
Daughter of the late John and Jennie Semnatkosky, and wife of the late Joseph Michael Sondej, she is survived by her daughter, Grace Walker of Yardville, her two grandsons, Joseph Salaga of Yardville and Robert Salaga and his wife Heather of Danbury, Conn., and her great-granddaughter, Avery. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Hogan and Carol Sondej; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Emma was predeceased by her sister, Helen Semnatkosky.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, Hamilton. Friends may call on Wednesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
