George Tanks Simmons Sr.

TRENTON - George Tanks Simmons Sr., 78, of Trenton, passed away peacefully Monday at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.
George was a skilled Mason, he was a driver for Manning Mayflower and retired from New Jersey Transit Bus Co. He enjoyed playing bingo, cards (poker, tonk), fishing with friends and family but most of all riding his Harley Davidson.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Morgan and Arlene Freeman. Surviving are his wife Nancy, two daughters, Shannon Newton (Anthony) and Nancy Simmons (David), two stepdaughters, Jenny Ross and Michelle DeWitt, four sons, Stephen (Mittie), Anthony, David (Iris) and George Simmons Jr.; one stepson, Robert Dewitt Jr. (Marisol); four sisters, Deborah Bias, Marlene Armstrong (Lewis), Yolanda & Veronica Freeman; one brother Donal Reeves (Ana), many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 25, at 3 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the chapel.
