Gertrude (Ressie) Van Syckle

Gertrude (Ressie) Van Syckle, 89, of Hamilton passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Robert Wood University Hospital in Hamilton.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, Mrs. Van Syckle was a Hamilton area resident for most of her life. She was employed at Lockwood Bus Company. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and gardening.
Daughter of the late Annie and Mack Hicks, wife of the late Ray Van Syckle, and sister of the late Alfred, Warren, Joseph and Edward Hicks, she is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law; Carol A. and Edward Kownacki; MaryLou Van Syckle and Paula and David Maxwell; her son and daughter-in-law; Ray Jr. and Karen Van Syckle; her four grandchildren; Shannon Borden; Ed and Traci Kownacki; and Ashley and Jessica Maxwell; and her three great-grandchildren; Sara and Sophia Borden and Anthony Edward Kownacki.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 12) at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, N.J. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick, N.J. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from noon until the time of service at the Saul Colonial Home.
