Hannah Bethea, age 87, passed away Dec. 9, 2013 at home. She was born in Trenton, N.J. and was educated in the Trenton public school system. She lived in Trenton for more than 25 years. Hannah was employed as a L.P.N. at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital for 10 years, and worked for Mary G. Roebling for more than 20 years until her retirement.
She was a former member C.O.G.I.C. and Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. Several years later she relocated churches and became a member at Victory Tabernacle C.O.G.I.C.
Hannah was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Mother Elizabeth Jones, her stepmother, Fannie Carter, her husband, Robert Bethea Sr., her son, Wayne Bethea, a daughter, Evangelist Gwendolyn K. Warren, and her sister, Magdalene Turner.
Hannah's memory will be cherished and forever remembered by her two daughters, Marvis E. Jennett and Roseanne Hamilton; two sons, Robert Bethea Jr. and Sgt. Charles E. Bethea; a special aunt, Ruby Gilchrist; 13 grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; three special daughters, Carla Leonard, Deborah Turner and Etoria Hightower; two special sons-in-law, James Jennett and Charles E. Warren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at New Holy Cross Church of Christ Written in Heaven, 500 E. State St., Trenton, N.J. Calling hours will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, N.J. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
