Helen Wilson was called home on Thursday, March 14, 2013, one month and 10 days after her 96th birthday. She was born in Trenton, to Bertha Anna and Elmer Williamson. She was one of eight children. She was educated in the Trenton school system. Helen was a Trenton native for 89 years before relocating to Gainesville Florida. Helen was employed as a domestic engineer during her workforce years. She was small in stature but strong-willed and was not shy about getting her point across. Helen was married to Frederick Walker Wilson for 59 years until he was called home in 1995.
Helen is predeceased by one son, Frederick Wilson Jr. and three grandchildren, Mark Walker, Toni Howard and Kim Walker.
Helen leaves to cherish her memory one son; Wilbur Wilson and three daughters; Gertrude Walker; Margaret Young and Carmella Whetstone; three step-daughters; Vicki Morland; Gloria Baylor and Lillian Harris; foster daughter; Leah Green; and cherished friends; Walter Underwood and AJ Jackson. Also cherishing her memory are niece; Carol Ann and nephew; Marvin; several grandchildren; Wilbur; Vernel; Keith; Terri; Barbara; James; Maurice; Tawny; Dillon; and numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Going home service will be at 1 p.m. (Mar. 25) at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church 21 Rev. William L. Powell Dr. Hightstown, NJ. Calling hours will be 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. Interment Ewing Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
