TRENTON - Henry Simmons, 80, of Trenton, departed this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Hospice Atlanta.
Born and educated in Charleston, S.C., Mr. Simmons resided in Washington D.C. before settling in Trenton. He was employed as a maintenance worker at the St. Albans School for Boys in Washington D.C. and by the State of New Jersey Department of Corrections in Trenton.
Predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Richardine Haynesworth Simmons, a son, Michael Simmons, a daughter, Tanya Jackson, a sister, Evelyn Rich, a brother, Johnnie Simmons. Surviving are his devoted and loving wife, Ola Mae Simmons; two sons, Maurice Snipe and Nathaniel Jackson; a daughter, Lucy Hines; three brothers, Leroy, Alonzo and Jessie Simmons; 13 grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun St., Trenton. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the chapel.
