Hermionne K. "Hermie" Holzendorf-Powell

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - Hermionne K. "Hermie" Holzendorf-Powell, born in Jacksonville, Fla., on July 15, 1940, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Midwest City. The third of four children to the late Ethelyn and King Holzendorf, she was educated in the Trenton public school system after the family's relocation to Trenton, N.J.
A devout Trenton, N.J. resident, blessed with four children, she began a new chapter in life by moving to Oklahoma City. There she launched a 20-year-career as a state contractor and successfully retired in 2006. As a retiree, she enjoyed daily supermarket trips, cooking meals for family, shopping with her grandchildren and serene moments gardening. Hermie is best remembered for her cross-country treks by car from Oklahoma City to Trenton, N.J. with her children and grandchildren for summer vacations.
Predeceased by her parents, siblings, Terri (June) and Penny (Clarence) and her son, Kai, she leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Freddie "Fritz" Grier, Brooke (Leslie), 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother, Bill, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
