Jacqueline C. "Jackie" Cheney

Jacqueline (Jackie) C. Cheney, 70, of Whiting, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2012, at her daughter's home with her loving family at her side. Born on January 22, 1942 in Allentown, she lived many years in Mercerville, before moving to Browns Mills and then to Whiting. She loved traveling, laughing and joking, relaxing, gambling at casinos, warm climates and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a dedicated animal lover and adopted many wonderful pets throughout her lifetime. Most recently, she chose a sweet little poodle who she named Nugget. She retired five years ago from K. Hovnanian and looked forward to enjoying her free time and traveling the world, her biggest wish was to visit Bora Bora. She was a loving, caring, sweet, fun, wonderful and dedicated mother who always put her family first no matter what. Jackie will be in our hearts forever. She was a "Diamond among Gems" and no one will ever take that title from her. Jackie was predeceased by her mother, Catherine (lovingly referred to as "Katie") M. Sadovy , the "Matriarch of Diamonds" and one who has been dearly missed since 1991, and father, John J. Sadovy Sr. She is survived by her brother; John (fondly known as "Butch" or "Uncle Scoob") J. Sadovy, Jr.; of Ocala, FL, her daughter; Candace M. (Beskos) Lucas; her son and daughter-in-law; Jason and Vicki Beskos; her grandchildren; Jason; Jenna; and Stephen; a niece; Allison Sadovy; her dog; Nugget and her grand-dog and cat; Truffles and Manilow; extended family and several friends who considered her "Mom", too. The family wishes to express its sincere thanks to the nurses and aides at Princeton Hospice who helped care for her during her last weeks and John Alloway of Alloway Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday (Oct. 8) at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Chapel Mausoleum , Building A, 1200 Cedar Lane, Trenton, NJ, 08610. Pastor Richard Esher of Browns Mills United Methodist Church will be officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to www.cancercare.org, which provides financial assistance to cancer patients in need.
