Janet Rutherford

Janet Rutherford, 61, of Trenton, departed this life on Sunday, June 21, 2014 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center.
Born in Fort Dix, Mrs. Rutherford was a lifelong area resident. She was educated at Our Lady of Divine Shepherd and was a graduate of Trenton High School. She retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance after 42 years of dedicated service. She was a member New Salem Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Mass Choir, Praise Dance Team, and in other capacities to support various ministries of the church and community.
Predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Rutherford, her parents, Carlton and Dorothy Lartigue, a brother, L. Wayne Lartigue, brothers-in-law, Dewey McLean and Robert Johnson, and her companion, Charles "Chuck" Marinnie, surviving are a son, Marquise Rutherford (Salena); two daughters, Vondalyn C. Fannin (Stacy) and Rene Nelson (Curtis); six grandchildren, Latoya M. Nelson, Delana C. Robinson, Latonya M. Nelson, Darien J. Robinson, Louis C. Fannin, Ciani J. Nelson and Bryce A. Rutherford; a great-grandson, Savion J. Robinson; three sisters, Eleanor McLean, Vivian Lartigue-Morton and Audrey Walker (Nathaniel); sisters-in-law, Dorothy Johnson, Annette Lartigue; honorary sisters, Quinette Keys, Lorene Williams and Marjorie Banks; six aunts, eight uncles; and a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 27, 2014, at 1 p.m. at New Salem Baptist Church, 316 Union St., Trenton.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. at the church.Arrangements are by Campbell Funeral Chapel, Trenton.
