HAMILTON - John W. Shoemaker, 83, of Hamilton, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, Willingboro.
Born in Bainbridge, Ohio, he resided most of his life in Hamilton. Mr. Shoemaker was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War
. He retired in 1980 after 30 years from the General Motors
Corporation, Ewing. He was a member and past Fire Police Captain of the Whitehorse Fire Company, Hamilton.
Son of the late Edsel and Dorothy Brown Shoemaker, father of the late John Joseph Shoemaker, brother of the late Raymond Shoemaker, Gladys Rooker, Beverly Rogers, he is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Clara V. Comiso Shoemaker; a son and daughter-in-law, Louis E. and Jane Shoemaker; his daughter, Debbie DeLuca; a brother, Lester Shoemaker; two sisters, Betty Joseph and Shirly Brown; his nine grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and James Wagner, Lauren Shoemaker, Jessica and Johnny Neel, Nicole and Michael DeLuca, Katie and Kyle Jackman, Clarissa DeLuca and Kirsten Miles, Ryan Shoemaker, Gabrielle Garman, and Nicole Garman; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Brenna Funeral Home, 340 Hamilton Ave., Trenton. Entombment will follow in Colonial Memorial Park, Devine Shepherd Mausoleum, Hamilton. Calling hours for family and friends will be on Thursday, December 19, 2013 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Brenna Funeral Home.
