Leon A. Clark

Leon A. "Roach" Clark TRENTON - Leon A. "Roach" Clark age 82 of Trenton passed away September 4, 2013 at Compassionate Care Hospice St. Francis Medical Center. He was born in Trenton and was a life-long resident. He was educated in the Trenton Public School System. Mr. Clark was an U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was hired as a Service Foreman with JC Vending in 1948. After forty years of service with JC Vending, he was employed by the law firm of Backus, Waldron and Hill as the Building Superintendent. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to open and establish the New Dodger Bar in Trenton, New Jersey in 1982. He was an active member of the Mitchell Davis American Legion Post 182. He was also a member of the Theta Gamma Social Club, where he served as the treasurer. He was a member of Wayne Avenue Baptist Church in Trenton, New Jersey. Predeceased by his parents Lillian and Hunter Clark, siblings, William Clark and Lillian Singletary. Mr. Clark is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce, his sons, Leon A."Butch"Jr., Kevin and Sean; four grandchildren, Shaun (Khalilah), Melissa, Durell and Christina; four great-grandchildren, Celeste, Anaya, Jasmine and Mason; his siblings, Frank, Charles (Virginia), Alice, Carrie (O'Breen); sister-in-law, Carolyn (Edward); a goddaughter, Elyse (Lionel); a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend and brother by love, Bill Holzendorf. Funeral service will be 11am Thurs Sept. 12, 2013 at Wayne Ave Baptist Church 30 Wayne Ave Trenton, NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Organizational service will be conducted at 10:30am at the church. Entombment Greenwood Cemetery Hamilton, NJ. Arrangements are by the Hughes Funeral Home.
