EWING - Lucy Solimando Giovannetti, 95, of Ewing, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, in Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Hopewell.
Born in Trenton she was a lifelong resident before moving to Ewing six years ago. Lucy retired from St. Francis Medical Center blood bank after 25 years of service. She was a member of The Sanctuary Guild, Senior Citizens Club and Sacred Heart Society of Our Lady of the Angels Parish.
She was predeceased by her parents, Nicola and Mary (Erbicela) Solimando; daughters, Cecelia Iavarone and Marylou Maurio; husband, Joseph Giovannetti; great-grandchildren, Elaina Felmlee and Brian Maurio; and brothers and sisters, Nicholas and Michael Solimando, Mary Bisanzio, Theresa Solimando, Caroline Satalino, Antoinette Parelli and Josephine Guido.
Lucy is survived by her son-in-law, Louis Maurio, with whom she resided; sister, Frances Solimando; sister-in-law, Carmela Solimando; grandchildren, David N. Maurio, Julie and her husband Nicholas Felmlee, Melissa Maurio and fiancé Nicholas Cotnoir, Joseph and his wife Karen Iavarone, Carlo and Anthony Iavarone; great-grandchildren, Marissa Iavarone and her mother Maria, Sonny Olah and Noah Felmlee; and many nieces and nephews.
Rite of Reception will be held Friday (November 16) at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Parish/St. Joachim Church, 20-56 Butler Street, Trenton. The viewing will follow from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in church. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey Street, Hamilton.
