Madeline Jane Burns

HAMILTON - Madeline Jane Burns, 91, of Hamilton passed away peacefully Friday, March 7, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton surrounded by her family.
Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1941. She was a telephone operator with New Jersey Bell then went on to work as co-owner with her husband in the Burns Bonded Cleaners. She went on to work as a telephone operator with the State of New Jersey, working first in the labor building and later at New Jersey State College.
Daughter of the late Arthur and Anna Dechan Huart, sister of the late Paul A. Huart, she is survived by her husband of 64 years, John A. Burns; a daughter, Anne Burns and her husband Stephen Bronner of Ft. Lee; two sons, Mark J. Burns of Hamilton and Paul A. Burns of Mt. Holly; a sister-in-law, Leah Huart; a brother-in-law, Thomas A. Burns, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church, 626 S. Olden Ave., Trenton. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
