HAMILTON - Margareth Mellody, 68, of Hamilton Square, died peacefully and surrounded by family and friends on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Compassionate Care Hospice in the St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Odda, Norway, she immigrated to the United States in 1964. She resided in Princeton and Jackson before moving to Hamilton Square over 30 years ago. When first arriving in the United States she worked as an au pair in Princeton. She then worked at Princeton University. After leaving Princeton University, she began working with her husband in their family gasoline business. Throughout her life she was a devoted mother and grandmother.
Margareth is survived by her husband, Thomas Mellody; her son, Derek, her son and daughter-in-law, Stig-Niclas and Nicole Mellody; and her three grandchildren, Isabella, Marcus and Shea; her sisters, Vesla of Sweden, Eldbjorg of Wisconsin and Werna of Norway and brother Bror of Norway.
Funeral services for Margareth will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4315 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690. Entombment will be in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690.
