HAMILTON - Maria (Marie) Vita, 86, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday at home with her loving family by her side.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived most of her life in the Trenton area. She retired after 25 years of service from Squibb in Princeton. She was a member of the St. Raphael's/ Holy Angels Parish at St. Raphael's and was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She served a five year term as president of H.E.L.P. and was the chairman of the Spring and Fall luncheon. She also served as president, for 10 years, of St. Gregory's Senior Club. Marie loved to travel, line dance and had a passion for ballroom dancing.
Daughter of the late Nicolo and Maria Rizzo, wife of the late Anthony (Tony) Vita, mother of the late Marlene A. Vita, sister of the late Albert and Ralph Rizzo, she is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent N. and Karen Vita of Ewing, Kenneth A. and Nancy Vita of New Egypt; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Phillip Gerardi, Stephen and Lillian Gerardi; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Lenny Morselino; five grandchildren, Kimberly Vita Salange and her husband Tony, Janine, Jillian and Scott Maurizi, Remy Vita; 1 great-grandson, Wyatt Baals; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013 from the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville Allentown Road, Yardville, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Raphael's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamilton. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the memorial chapel.
