OKEMOS, Mich. - Marie M. Boszak (alias: Mrs. Claus), 95, died September 22, 2013 at the Ingham County Medical Care Facility.
Born in Trenton, N.J. she was a lifelong area resident for 89 years prior to moving to Michigan. Mrs. Boszak, best known as Mrs. Claus, for the last 45 years brought cheer to residents of convalescent and nursing homes and visited nursery schools and children's Christmas parties.
Marie was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and The School of Industrial Arts majoring in dressmaking and millinery. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, the Mercerville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and the Mercerville PTA.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents George Barlow and Veronica Orha Barlow, her husband of 62 years, Peter Boszak and daughter, Nancy Marie. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sheryl Boszak of Okemos; three granddaughters, Bonnie Lynn and spouse Philip, Carolyn Marie, and Kathleen Ann and spouse Rob and their son Mason Garratt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hamilton, N.J., followed by burial in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hamilton, N.J. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hartmann Memorial Home, 2830 Nottingham Way, Mercerville, N.J.
The family appreciates the nurses and staff of the Ingham County Medical Care Facility for their friendship and excellent care they provided to Marie.
