Melissa D. Ferrono, 19, of Robbinsville, passed away at home on Monday, July 15, 2013, after her courageous two year battle with Ewings Sarcoma, with her loving family by her side.
Born in Princeton, she was a lifelong Robbinsville resident. Melissa graduated as an honor student from Robbinsville High School, class of 2012 and was on the field hockey team for four years. She had a passion for education and had received a four year scholarship to St. Joseph's University which she attended for a short time. Her plans had been cut short by her illness as she had dreams of attending law school after graduation.
She is survived by her parents; Barry and Rosanne Pane Ferrono; her brother; Anthony Ferrono; maternal grandmother; Dorothy Pane; aunts and uncles; Frank and Lisa Pane; Theresa McNinney; Liz Pane; Joe Gallagher; Ron DeLapo; cousins; Rachel Ecker; Andrea and Scott Sirak; Alyssa Pane; Tom DeLapo; Justin and Suzanne Ecker and many dear friends.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (July 19) at 9:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 4620 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Sq., NJ 08690. Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park in Robbinsville.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday (July 18) from 5-8 p.m. at the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville Allentown Rd. in Yardville. There will be no calling hours at the funeral home on Friday morning.
